Just like that. Bam. Summer is in full swing, and suddenly we find ourselves in… July.
Happy Independence Day, by the way.
What a week! Tonight we’ll spend our 4th the way we always do, at the lake with friends, BBQing and laughing and enjoying the time together. The kids will play in the lake and shoot each other with Nerf guns, and ignore our calls to reapply sunscreen.
This week though, for us? Tiring. Monumental.
It feels so good to be home. D2 and I spent a week down in the Boise area, at my Dad’s house. Due to health, he decided it was time to move closer to us, and so he did. He now occupies two large rooms in our home. D2 and I spent a week helping him downsize his life, selling nearly everything he owns and easing him through this transition to living in a house full of people again. Family, yes. But still.
I just officially became part of the Sandwich Generation, still raising kids and caring for an aging parent.
Back up a couple of weeks before the trip to Dad’s and we had an amazing day at a used curriculum sale, visiting with friends, making new ones, and selling over half of the extra curriculum I had laying around.
I was also able to nearly FILL my entire list for next year’s books in the process. It was a good day. A very good day!
There are so many things I want to write about, and haven’t had the time to.
Soon. Very soon. The 2:1 Conference, recipes, kid stuff, school stuff, and homeschooling high school (GASP!) One day soon I will get my brains together.
How’s YOUR summer going?
