Way Back, Homeschool Blog Style

homeschool150 It’s been a while since these posts have seen the light of day, and I thought this is my perfect opportunity to give you a little blast from the past on 5 Kids and a Dog. All posts were written in 2005 and 2006!  :)

I started out with this blog as strictly a homeschool blog.  I have so many old homeschool posts which are still relevant today, so I would like to share a few of them with you.

Are Homeschoolers TOO Sheltered? It’s a question we ask ourselves from time to time. It has been asked by principals, presidents, neighbors, friends, and Grandmas. The key is to understand what the goal of your homeschooling is!

Considering Homeschooling? Think you’ll just “do it”? You’ll be in for a surprise!  You’ll love it, but you will see that Homeschooling Really IS A Journey!

No one but the mother of a child learning to read can relate and get excited about this one:  We Went Through Phonograms #1-26 Today! I was SO excited, SO happy, because he was finally really getting it.

One thing we all learn rather quickly is that homeschool curriculum costs money.  Here are some places to buy used curriculum, and some tips on how to survive a curriculum sale. Used Curriculum is a Homeschooler’s Mainstay!

It’s not all school and books here. We know how to have a little fun too! In this case, if someone asked What Did You Do Today? I could answer, “Had a little fun with my stepson.” :)

I hope you enjoyed my little blast from the past today. Thanks for coming along!
