You Are Worth More

Girl and Sparrow

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-30

He knows all about you. He knows you inside and out. He knows how many hairs you will lose today, and how many remain. You are his special child, whether you acknowledge Him or not. You are worth so much to God!  He will love you without expecting from you. He forgives without guilt or reminders of the past. When Jesus was crucified and said “It is finished”, it really was.

You are exactly where he put you. Not to punish your or give you glory, but because your life, your story, your time is unfolding within His plan for you. The things you are walking through right now, today, are the things you will be able to help someone else walk through tomorrow. He knows the plans he has for you. You are worth so much to Him!

B90Days: Heading Into the Halfway Mark

Bible-in-90-Days_2011aPsalms.  The middle of the Bible.

This week my B90X kids and I will be hitting the halfway mark in our reading: Day 44. On Thursday, in fact.  It is hard to believe that we’re nearly halfway done, and it is hard to believe that we haven’t been reading for very long, either!  (If you’re from Amy’s B90Days groups—I am not behind—we started two days after you did, so we’re on track too, but our track is 2 days behind yours.)

This past week we read through Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, and now we’re in Psalms. WOW.  Today as I was reading, I came across this passage:

It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. Ps. 44:3

It is not by my selfish desire that I am reading. I didn’t even want to do this last year!  God had other plans though. It is not to my credit that I am doing it again. Leading a group was the last thing I wanted to do. God reached down and almost audibly told meThis is why you read it last time.”  God is funny that way, isn’t he?

It is not by my own merits that I have made it halfway.  Neither is it my life that is glorified through it… but only that Christ is glorifiedGod is the one who makes this possible.  Without Him I would never be able to keep up with this reading schedule, and neither would the students who are reading with me.  God saved D1, he saved the Israelites (time and time again!) and he helps us, because he loves us.  How awesome is that!?

And again I find myself praying…

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Ps.19:14

Impressed by God

“Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?””

1Kings 19:11-13

I can’t even guess at how many times I have done that. I have looked for God in the big, obvious, impressive, loud things, and nearly missed his voice when it came, quietly. God is always impressive, but not showy. God speaks, if only we will listen.

Exciting News!

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matt.6:25-26

Remember a while back, after The Relevant Conference, how I said I have found other ways to earn an income and glorify God along the way.(Stay tuned for more about this one!)”

This is what I was talking about, I just never thought it would take so long to come to fruition.  I knew that the Lord had it in his hands, and that if it was to be, He would make it happen. And He did!  I clung to that verse during the waiting time.

I am SO proud to announce that I am now a Consultant for Blessings Unlimited!  I have my Consultant website up and running too! Click the screenshot to access it!

BlessingsMe

DaySpring and Blessings Direct were sponsors for Relevant, and they set up the most fantastic gathering room for us during the conference.  They decorated and hosted and loved on us all the way around.  I was blessed by Marcia from Blessings Direct on the flight back from Harrisburg to Chicago, as we talked the flight away and listened to each other’s hearts.  She told me about the Blessings Unlimited opportunity, and it planted a seed that I knew was from the Lord.

My heart’s desire is to, soon, be able to be in control of my finances and not dependent upon trying to get shifts on the weekend evenings when I would rather be home with my family.  I fell in love with the product line while I was at Relevant, and poured over the catalog so many times after I came home.

It appears that I am the only (or one of the only) Consultants in my neck of the woods at this point, so I am hoping that the Lord uses that as a wide open field to bless others through my business. I love it already, and I hope that you will too.

I will be occasionally featuring a new product here on my blog, so please to take a look and see if anything strikes your heart!
