It is decided.
After an intense day of politics, and an intense several months of nonstop commercials and telephone calls from 800 numbers, the election is over. The current President will serve another four years. This election has been called pivotal. The most crucial election in history. So it is. And yet…
What does this change for us in the long run? In the most crucial, pivotal parts of my life, what has changed? My address, name, family, and home remain the same. Even more, my Jesus is the same.
The governments are appointed by the One in charge. The One who made the earth, and knit me together in my mother’s womb, remains unchanged.
Sovereign.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers…
We wrestle not against presidents and senators, but against principalities and powers.
God is still here.
God hasn’t forgotten anyone. He may even have some plans for this little nation of ours. And who am I to question the authority of the One who has known me since before I was born?
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matt. 6:27
It is so easy to fall into the trap of worry. What if? What if? What if?
Well, what IF we let God be God? This isn’t too big for him to handle, and in fact it has been in His hand the entire time. This is not a surprise to him, and he isn’t worried about it.
He is still Sovereign. We are not.
