I know I’ve been missing in action lately.
It’s crazy. December is usually the month where we take a break from school books, and spend time getting ready for Christmas. We deep clean the house, have a few family baking days, visit friends, and just relax.
A few weeks ago I got a phone call while I was at Minecraft Club with D1. It was a nurse manager from the hospital, calling me about my job application. It had been a few weeks, and honestly I’d forgotten that I had even put an application in. He wanted to interview me, right away.
The interview was great, and at the end of it he shook my hand and said, “Welcome to the team. You’re going to fit right in here.” Thus began my current disappearance from blogging and my social life.
In the past few weeks:
I went through a 2 week orientation at work, a 40-hour week of day shifts followed by a 40 hour week of evening shifts. Then I began my regular work schedule with just one day off in the between, so I worked 9 out of 10 days in a row.
Mr. Christmas single-handedly put up the Christmas tree, and enlisted the help of D2 to decorate the tree and house.
I finished my third 12-week fitness challenge with a total loss of 11.2# and 11.6″, and I hit my goal. I’m in the very best shape I’ve ever been in. Now I’m working on just maintaining, balancing what a put in my body vs. what I put out in the gym. I’m loving this new season in my life.
We have been spending a lot of time with grandbabies. It’s funny how soon we forget what it’s like to have little ones underfoot, but we love it so much. Our youngest grandson just turned one.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary! It’s crazy how fast the years just blur by. 🙂
I’m still here. I’m around, still posting Instagram pictures here and there and pinning homeschool and Autism related things on Pinterest. (As well as snarky humor, recipes, lots of Christmas thing, and high school ideas. Pinterest is pretty awesome.)
Note: Just to illustrate HOW busy I am– I drafted this post Dec. 7th, and today is the 28th!
I hope your Christmas was wonderful, with lots of memories to cherish for years to come. I’ll have another post for you by the 1st, promise!
