Seems like OT for D1 goes one year on, two years off. He had it from birth to 9 months; ages 3-4, and once again now at 6 he’s been assigned to OT. After noting some things his speech therapist was seeing during therapy, plus his everyday stuff at home, I finally requested another OT Eval. He seeks stimulation constantly via movement or touch, often to the point of irritating people around him.
His need for lots of deep pressure movement, spinning and other movement related things caused us to realize that he’d benefit from some more OT. The evaluation concluded his bilateral muscle coordination isn’t good, which is Dyspraxia related, of course. He starts next week, for an hour. I’m glad, but once again we have had to move the speech time so that both appointments line up one after the other. It’s not too bad, we just have to be there earlier than we’re used to is all. I am looking forward to seeing how he does though, and for some improvement too!
