In my life this week… I have stayed up way too late way too many times, working on the Kindle formatting for my ebook. Have you seen it? You can get either a PDF or Kindle edition! Check out the ABC’s of Homeschooling Encouragement. This week we also finalized decisions for our kitchen remodel. We have to go down today and write a check to order the granite and cabinets!
In our homeschool this week… We are still on break. I am gathering book lists and resources and starting to purchase things. I love a new school year! 
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share… Get in on as many giveaways right now as you possibly can! They seem to be EVERYWHERE! The biggest, of course, is the Curriculum Clean-Out over at Homeschool Creations. There are 60 different giveaways linked up on her site, and more may be coming but you need to hurry! There are only a couple more days until it’s all over with! For my contribution, I’m giving away a 17-piece Ancient history unit. You really should enter my drawing.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Another week, another swim meet. Not much else happening! Both boys came in 2nd place in one of their races this week!
My favorite thing this week was… Getting the Kindle formatting done for the ebook. You have no idea how much stress that caused me. I don’t know if Preference will cover this kind of gray!
What’s working for us… The chores chart. Oh my goodness it is wonderful! The only struggle we are having is getting them done early and quickly. With summer we have time, but once we begin school again these boys have to get their stuff DONE in the mornings! The nice thing about this chart, (confession time here) is that it forces ME to do my chores too. If someone is assigned to mop the boys’ bathroom floor, I have to mop the kitchen and my bathroom. On the days they clean and vacuum their rooms, I clean and vacuum MY room! My house hasn’t been cleaned this regularly in…. Hmm… how long has it been? Let’s just not go there.
Things I’m working on…
- The big curriculum list.
- Meal planning.
- Writing some posts ahead. OK so it’s on the to-do list.
- Finding a time for running to fit back into my life on a regular basis.
I’m reading… Made to Crave…. still… yeah I know…
I’m cooking… Quinoa! I have fallen in love with this little…. seed? I don’t know exactly what it IS but it goes great with Asian, any kind of stir fry, I had it in a taco salad tonight, and I’m looking for lots more ideas! I make a cup (dry) of it at a time so I get about 3-4 meals out of it. It keeps really well to take to work with me for dinner.
I’m grateful for… Friends who know more than me about technology.
I’m praying for… My kids.
