Do you hate reading aloud?
(All the homeschool Mommas collectively gasp in shock.)
Does your voice give out long before you’re done with a chapter? Are there times when you just don’t have time to sit and read?
At times I agree with all three of these statements! I want to share a great resource with you that will help.
Loyal Books, formerly known as Books Should Be Free, has a fantastic assortment of audio recordings of public domain books. You can download the titles used with An Old Fashioned Education, or Ambleside Online, as well as other books that your kids enjoy listening to for FREE. (And if homeschooling is busting your budget right now, read my post about Homeschooling on the Cheap. )
Sometimes in the evening, I would set up my laptop in the kids’ bedroom so they could listen to a chapter or two of a book after they go to bed. You can either listen on the site, or you can download the audio files (mp3) to your computer to listen to later.
