Do You Trust Me?

“Do you trust me?” he said as he reached out his hand, encouraging her to step on to the magic carpet and take a ride with him.  As Aladdin gazed into Jasmine’s eyes she was calmed and reassured that he wouldn’t hurt her.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Prov. 3:5-6

And as He stretches out His hand to me, he gazes into my eyes and says, “Do you trust Me?”  I am comforted. I know that he would never hurt me. I know that he loves me with an everlasting love, and yet.  And yet I still want to take care of this myself. And yet I feel like I know what needs to be done. And yet.  I look into his eyes again, and drop them quickly as I realize what I have done. I have, by my desire to do it myself, said that I don’t actually trust Him. My Maker, my Savior, my Redeemer. And I am ashamed. O Lord, forgive me.

I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2

And he pulls me close. He tells me that He is always with me, and that he gave me his Holy Spirit as a witness and a comforter, and that all I need to do is pray, and He is there.

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, … was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:19-20

YES, Lord!

I love this, "And as He stretches out His hand to me, he gazes into my eyes and says, “Do you trust Me?” I am comforted."

I'm not sure what all is going on in your life – but I know what's going on in mine and it's a scary ride! One that I wouldn't want to take alone. So I will say YES with you!

Thanks for this post – I needed to hear it! What a wonderful visual!

    Happy iFellowship Day!

Penny: Tough stuff with teenagers. I wrote this last week, actually, and when I reread it this morning I cried. This is so hard sometimes.

This is beautiful… I somehow think you're not the only one who struggles to "let go, and let God."

We all need this wonderful reminder,

God bless you and happy WFW!

I love this! It's like you looked in my heart and wrote this!! Why does it seem like we all say we trust Him but then we still want to control everything? I am so thankful that He still reaches out for us and never leaves us!!

    Have a great night!!
