The FTC requires that every blog have a disclosure policy. This is mine.
I write this blog primarily to give myself a place to write down my thoughts and to support others in the process. Products or services that are featured or promoted here are things which I have either used, owned, or would purchase for myself or others. I would not promote something we would never use.
I have affiliate accounts with a number of companies.
Products with affiliate links do not cost you any more than they would without them.
Affiliate programs are simply a way for a company to extend their reach to more customers through websites and blogs like mine. These programs help support The Momma Knows site expenses. If you make a purchase through any of my affiliate links, you have my very sincere thanks. 🙂
Affiliates I am using in current posts (January 2017, until I revise them) include:
Amazon.com Required Disclosure: Dawn Perkins is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
- Qustodio Parental Control Software for PC, Mac, iPhone and Android
- Apologia Educational Publishing, publishers of fantastic science and language arts for all grades.
- PicMonkey: crazy-awesome photo editing
- Homeschool Creations’ Homeschool Weekly Planner
- Compass Classroom, featuring DVD and streaming courses for students and parents.
- I use and highly recommend BigScoots Web Hosting
Posts dated prior to January 2017 may contain links to other affiliate products with companies I am still an affiliate of but no longer promoting. This is not to say they aren’t great products; I’m just not currently using them. If you find one in an older post that appeals to you, by all means, go ahead and use it! I have just had to make decisions based on where my time is best spent. I am happy whenever anyone uses one of my affiliate links.
I do book reviews, in VERY rare instances, and also review other products from time to time that are technology, family, or homeschool-related. I will not write a review of a product I have never seen or used.
I am open to requests for product reviews. Please email me if you need a review written. Understand that:
My opinions are my own and are not based on any sort of monetary gain or product received.
I do not work for free. If you are interested in contacting me for a review, please keep in mind that a $20 product does not cover the 8-20 hours I will spend reviewing it. You would never consider working for $2 an hour, so please be considerate.
If I don’t like something, I will say so.
Please contact me for my rates and more information if you would like me to review a product for you.
I am available for Homeschool Consulting Services
Whether you need help choosing curriculum, or finding that ONE THING that will help your special child, let me spend an hour brainstorming with you and come up with a plan that will work for you. I provide helpful, hour-long Skype consultations and a detailed list of resources and recommendations afterward. Email me for more information.
