I don’t homeschool because…
… I want to spend every waking minute with my kids
… I have a huge abundance of patience
… I think my homeschool is better than your kid’s public school
… I have a teaching certificate
… I want my kids to watch TV all day
… I want to isolate my kids from “the real world”
… I want to control everything they do
… I am anti-government
… I think denim jumpers are the height of fashion
… I think my kids are better than yours
We homeschool because it has become a lifestyle of learning, and we love it.
Why (don’t) you homeschool?

I LOVE this post. Totally identify – especially the denim jumper part! *Blessings*

okay-you got me-I didn’t start homeschooling for denim jumpers :/ And I don’t shop at the mall either! LOL
LOL! Thought so (about the jumpers, I mean.)
I (don’t) homeschool because….I want my kids to win the National Spelling Bee. I homeschool because we don’t want to be like everyone else.
Love this post. You are awesome. Needed to see this as a new homeschooling mom. Come check out our blog: mommyesquire.com I’m one half of a lawyer mom turned homeschooling mom. It’s a journey!

Kim: Welcome! and I’ll be right over!
Homeschooling isn’t so much of a thing you do as a journey you begin with your kids. You have years to get there.
I don’t homeschool because I want to sleep in everyday!
Thanks for joining the Hip Homeschool Hop today.

Sue

Love your post! I am not a homeschooler b/c I work full time. A few years ago I would have never seen homeschooling as a real and viable schooling option. After reading so many great blogs written by moms who homeschool, I feel a little sad that I can’t homeschool my little guy.
Love this

Jen I popped over to your (brand spanky NEW?) blog to say hello!
I’m excited to see your blog grow and read about your first year homeschooling! I wasn’t able to find a way to subscribe to your feed though…? See you around!
Thanks for dropping by
I’ve added a subscription option now, hopefully the prospect of having readers will entice me to update on a regular basis!

I don’t homeschool because I have freaky-long hair. Nor do I have long hair because I homeschool. I have no idea what the association is, but I’ve been told it isn’t a surprise that I homeschool because “all homeschoolers have really long hair.” Whaaa-? Sorry, but I had long hair far before I ever considered homeschooling.
I also don’t homeschool because I want to teach them that science is evil and a tool of the devil. Maybe it’s just because I was raised in this politically purple state, but I’m pretty certain there’s quite a bit of truth to the water cycle and the periodic table.

LOL Krystal, I love it! You have a great sense of humor! Must be because you homeschool.
