Scaling It Down Saturday

Scaling it Down

Many of you have joined me through the past few months as I post my Getting Healthy weekly update. It’s been going very slowwwly, but I am losing weight!  Well recently, Brandy Cormier over at Forever Family decided to start a weekly weight loss group with a Linky, called Scaling it Down Saturday.  That sounds like a little more fun to me, so from here on out I will be posting when her Linky goes up on Saturdays.

This past week has  been okay. I’m still being lazy about counting points though!  Ack, I need to get back on that.  What I am doing better is drinking water, eating healthy snacks, and exercising.  I’m still stuck at a 30 minute wall when I run.  Now that I finally got up to a somewhat respectable speed, it’s like I am stuck.  If I ran every day I’m sure it would help, but as we only go to the Y 2-3 times a week, that’s all I’ve managed to do.  And lately, it’s been more like 2 times a week.  I can do a 12 minute mile now, but I cannot do 2 at that pace.  I can do 30 minutes without stopping, but I max out at 2.25 miles, switching back and forth between 5 and 6 mph. I hope to be able to press on past the thirty minute mark.

And I’m down 15 pounds since I first began this very long, slow journey.  It’s not a lot when you look at the length of time it has taken, but it’s still a pants size and for that I am HAPPY!

I notice after I run my butt is sore for a while, or I should say my glutes are sore. :)   Usually they are sore for a day or 2 after a good run!  The other thing I have been noticing is that my pants are getting baggy in that region, again. Yay! :)

Sorry I was late with the Linky! Knowing people are actually participating will help me remember though! :-D

I’m glad you’re seeing results! Keep up the good work!!

I can’t do running. I mean, I can … but I hate it. UNLESS I have a soccer ball at my feet (played in high school LOL) — then I could run forever! Hmmm …. maybe I should get a soccer ball and start running around here?!
