And I read them all.

Starting January 1, 2010 I joined an amazing community of women, MomBloggers, as many of them may be classified, on a journey that back in December, I called foolish.  I said “That’s WAY too fast! You can’t read the Bible that quickly and expect to get ANYTHING out of it.”  Boy was I wrong! Not only DID I read it that quickly, but I got this awesome overview of God’s plan of HIStory, yes, HIS STORY, and it has blown  my mind.

This was not EASY.  Sometimes, this was not FUN. It was confusing, tiring, and even boring at times.  It was also, eye-opening, convicting, awe-inspiring, and encouraging. As I look back over this 3 month journey, I can say that I loved everything about it. It was work, but Paul said we must press on. We have to labor to enter His rest!

This week the busy weekend derailed my reading schedule, and I got two days behind again.  Yesterday and today I spent every free moment reading my Bible!  This morning I started out in 1Peter, still two days behind. Then I reached 2Peter, 1-3 John, and I just couldn’t stop! I was so close to the end! I kept going and read all of Revelation too.  It took me 3-1/2 hours this morning, but I did it. I finished the Bible.

I am excited, relieved, and proud of myself. I am tired, happy, and totally in love with God’s Word.  As I read the final chapter of Revelation, I cried tears of joy, not so much for finishing the task that I began, but for what is to come.  God’s Word is beautiful.
