Most of my regular readers know that along with being a homeschool mom, I also run an espresso cafe in our church youth group. What this essentially means is that I hang out with 150 teenagers two days a week.
I’ve done it for six years now, and I totally LOVE it. My husband and I work together with another couple (also parents with kids in the youth group) on Sunday mornings, and on Wednesday nights during Youth I have crews of students (2 per week) who serve in the cafe with me. Lemme tell ya, it’s a LOT of fun! I love it. The students, the atmosphere, the music, everything about it.
It was inevitable that I would spend New Year’s Eve there, then, and here’s just a little sampling of some of the things that happened that night. Our youth pastors had been threatening promising to come up with a rap song, and they performed it for the first time on New Year’s. Here’s the video, because I just can’t do it justice. It was quite funny, and the lyrics actually do have spiritual meaning behind them but all in all it was just a really good time. The students loved it.
