Another post from The Homeschool Lounge discussion.

Presently I’m in the midst of day 2 of my walk-in closet in my bedroom. It is, by far, the most difficult for me because of all of the things I’ve kept that I think I “NEED”. I tend to attach to stuff and this is just a hard area! I finally put all the pretty Better Homes & Gardens and This Old House magazines in a donate box. That’s a big deal! I have two years’ worth of each, and “I need them for home and decorating ideas”. I do, right? Okay so not really. The internet is chock full of ideas that don’t clutter up the shelves in my closet! =o)
After the closet comes the top of my desk. After that, I get to hit the living room again, but this time to re-arrange the furniture in preparation for Christmas decorating and putting up the tree! And I get to convince The Man to part with some stuff from the now-obsolete entertainment center… like the RECORD PLAYER, TAPE PLAYER which doesn’t work, broken CD player, and about 200 record albums! I am thinking Ebay for the albums and maybe the turntable.
The CD player can go in the trash. And after that? Sheesh if I could convince him to get rid of the entertainment center I would. He built it though, and it’s solid oak, and he’s already told me it is going no where. Sigh. :-\ Eventually the kids and I will pull him into the 21st century in the area of furniture! The cheapo particle board computer desk is headed to the dump too, but that’s a definite, rather than a maybe. And all of this will probably happen this week!
There is a fantastic blog called The Nesting Place, and she has the most CREATIVE decorating ideas! (And they won’t take up shelf space! LOL) http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/ I’m looking for others too, but so far I really love the things she does. I’ve gotten some great ideas!
