Yes! It’s coming along! There is light at the end of the tunnel! My kids have been bugging the heck out of me asking me when I am going to be done with my bedroom. I’ve dubbed it “The Last Frontier” because it really is the last place I decided to work on, for good reason. No one sees my bedroom but my husband and I.
The closet was the worst part, clutter-wise, except for my desk of course. Soon, very soon, I will put up before & after pictures. Sometime this week! I am about 80% finished with my bedroom right now. SO CLOSE! The closet is finished. School stuff, finished. Kitchen & pantry, done AND the counter has stayed clear since I gave my husband a basket for his things! (Hmm, you mean I’m not the one who clutters up the kitchen counter??) I was even able to put a pretty candle holder on the counter, a gift from the gift swap at our youth staff Christmas party on Friday night.
One thing that I have realized is that de-cluttering and purging extra stuff has uncovered projects and other things which need attention, but have been forgotten under all the mess! I have a PROJECTS To-Do List now! The first thing, most pressing actually and I’m a little embarassed that I “lost them” in the first place…. I discovered THREE pairs of my husband’s work pants which need repairs! One pair is recent, one is from last summer, and one…?? I have no idea how long I’ve had them. All I know is that NOW I know why he’s always saying he needs work pants. (*gulp*)
My other projects are necessary, but there’s not a time constraint pushing me. I need to have my Mom’s letters scanned to PDF, digitize all my old negatives, scan my Mom & Dad’s old photos from the photo albums, and other things like that. Oh, and how about taking our WILL to a sign before a Notary? Yep. Found the will, the POA, everything. It was drawn up a couple of years ago. Oh yes, I am on the ball! Okay, so not exactly… Moving on…
Today is the day I will finish my bedroom, and re-arrange the living room. Tonight or tomorrow, we will put up the Christmas tree and decorate! Little by little, day by day, and shelf by shelf, I am making progress. It’s been hard. It’s not fun. But it is coming along!!
