Ever feel like you had so many great plans, only to realize later that your plans fell flat? That was my week. The plan was to wrap up Egypt, current math chapters and spelling lists. We only have TWO more days of school left in our term!! We’re taking December off, so we HAVE to get all of this stuff done! Right?!
What I hadn’t counted on was that sickness would drop in and hang out for the week. Monday went fine. The boys and I were ON THE BALL! We worked on everything, made some plans to finish up the Egypt stuff, we did GOOD. Tuesday, D1 woke up with a fever of 102, at 10am. (This was the day I asked you to Name That Sickness) He basically whined and slept the majority of Tuesday. He’s had that fever off and on ever since. When he’s on ibuprofen, his temp stays around 99 and he feels fine. We’ve been able to get through some schoolwork but not a whole lot.
Thursday he crashed in the afternoon again, and when he woke up he was covered with a red rash, all over. I took him to urgent care and it’s ” just a viral rash”. The Dr. called me this morning to see how he’s doing, and told me that after we left last night, three more families of kids came in with the very same symptoms! But still nothing to worry about. Just let it run it’s course. And D2 started spiking temps on Wednesday afternoon, so I’ve been dosing them both with ibuprofen to keep them comfortable.
And school? Well… The boys both need a couple extra days of spelling to pass their tests. Napping and whining tend to get in the way of spelling practice. We have Monday & Tuesday left, then we’re on to holiday stuff. We WILL get it done! One last spelling test, finish up one math assignment and chapter test, and wrap up Egypt. We can do it!
See, I’m psyching myself up for it! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…
I’ll share all of my insane to-do lists for December later on. I’m talking big changes here… dejunking, decluttering, furniture re-arranging… Oh yes, and I am looking forward to it! Feels like I’m nesting and I’m not even pregnant! (And NO, that would actually be impossible so don’t even go there.)

Yes! Man plans and God laughs. I hope you all feel well soon, in time for Thanksgiving. Hang in there (HUGS)
