13 Albums I Listened to My Freshman Year (1985-86)

Please let me add a disclaimer here: I was not a Christian at this time. Don’t hold my musical tastes at 13 & 14 against me. :) I grabbed this post idea from Amber, because it’s just such a great idea and I love music too! Hers is 13 Songs I Listened To. I tried, but simply cannot narrow it down to SONGS, so I am listing ALBUMS instead. These are in NO particular order:

  • (Psst – I’ve never heard of any of those songs.) :-)

  • Psst – I’ve heard of half of those bands, but I don’t know if I can name any songs they sung – except Bon Jovi, of course, and the one Bon Jovi song that was on my list. ;)

I was quite oblivious to 80′s music, actually, as I was young and my mom and I only listened to the local Christian station, as did all of my friends, so I had no outside influences or desire to listen to mainstream music. I am, in a nutshell, 80′s music illiterate. Oddly enough, my best friend since 8th grade is an 80′s music fan and if I ever went on any type of quiz show, she’d be the friend I called for that category. ;) I didn’t listen to anything secular until I hit high school. :)

  • We have faith, dyspraxia, and musical tastes in common! I listened to and owned many of those albums!
Night Songs was my favorite…followed by Poison and Motley Crew. Iron Maiden and Metallica were a bit heavy for me.
I am appalled to understand the meaning of the lyrics I used to sing to…but I sang innocently.
