If it’s not one thing, it’s another

We learned yesterday that our 9th grade daughter hasn’t been entirely truthful with us regarding her friends and her life. I won’t go into details, but it is sufficient cause for us to seriously question our choice of public school for her. My husband told me in the heat of severe frustration, “Today was her LAST DAY at that school!” Now, we haven’t actually decided for sure, but that was his first thought. I don’t see how things will improve if we leave her there. Her friends have been encouraging her rebellion, quietly. I kept her home from school today, and we will decide over the weekend if she will return at all. Frustrating.

Wow. I’m so sorry to hear this!

It is good that you caught it early and you have a chance to step in and put a stop to things before they get any more out of hand. As a former rebellious teen myself, I know how out of hand things can get!

Also, isn’t it so wonderful that you know there are options to public school? Thank God for that! It may not be the path you end up taking, but at least you have that choice.

I’ll try to remember your daughter in my prayers—and you and your husband for the decisions that need to be made!
