Well we finally got J’s CAT-5 test results back. It took more than the two weeks we were told, but that’s okay, it was well worth it. J did GREAT. She tested at and above average in everything, with spelling being her lowest at 43rd %ile (still considered ‘average’ according to the test results) and her highest was the 92nd %ile in math computation, which is well above average, everywhere.
So I’m a happy Momma. That college algebra book paid off big rewards for her on this test, because she really knew what she was doing.
I made her take this test because she already took the WASL, which our PPP ‘strongly encourages’ the students to take, but I don’t trust the test. It isn’t accurate at all, and doesn’t compare against students nationally, only within our very inadequate testing pool of Washington state. I wanted to know how she’s ACTUALLY doing. And now I know.
