Organized Linen Closet

I believe it was MamaRae who asked to see the linen closet. I bought these plastic bins at WalMart for $3.29 each. I didn’t buy them all last week. I purchased them over the course of about six months. I have MANY of these bins (as you can see). On the right side of the linen closet, they contain strictly sheets, towels, and blankets.

On the floor level, those contain comforters. I can fit one queen size comforter, rolled in sleeping bag fashion, into a bin. It keeps them from getting sloppy and blocking the doors from opening or closing. I used to have the sheet bins labeled, but my labels didn’t stick very well. I may just get out a Sharpie and do it that way, so the kids can find the sheets that fit their beds. The short bin on this side contains extra pillow cases.

On the left side of the closet is where I keep a lot of miscellaneous STUFF. Mostly it’s been school supplies and books. Right now, you can see I actually have EMPTY shelving!! I threw away a lot of things. Also, as I said when I posted about my organizing day… I donated 11 sets of sheets!!! That alone freed up a tremendous amount of space. I like the short bins for books, because they have something to lean on, and they are contained. I was often opening the door, only to have a book or two fall out on my foot. This way, they stay put and I can still see what they are.
