College classes. Three HUGE final projects due in one week. Ugh.
Three things I learned this quarter:
1. God called me to teach my children, and be a wife to my husband, NOT to be a college student. Twice I’ve tried, and twice I’ve discovered that being a college student does NOT mesh with my ability to be a wife and mother. It takes up too much of my time–my days are spent trying to get some homework done, and my evenings/nights are spent doing all the homework I couldn’t do during the day. I have seen 1am ten out of the past 12 nights.
2. I.really.don’t.like.XHTML.coding. I’m really wishing I’d have taken a class on DreamWeaver instead. I have the program, so I think if I have any time over the summer I’ll probably play with it a little. Oh, and I can add most of the Office 2003 programs to my do-not-like list too. If I never have to mess with another database again, or come up with data for a spreadsheet, I’ll be one happy girl!
3. I LOVE PHOTOSHOP!
Oh the summer will be spent playing with my kids and playing with my Photoshop program! This is the one thing I enjoyed about the classes I took. My goal was to learn Photoshop. While I don’t think I KNOW it, I am sure a lot more familiar with what all it can DO! My girls too, have taken an interest when they’ve seen the neat projects I’ve done for my class.
I’m SO looking forward to NOT having any deadlines!!! I have final projects due in my Office class (the 11th, AND three regular assignments too!) and my XHTML class (the 10th). My final for my Photoshop class isn’t due until the 15th, but that one will be no problem, compared to the others!! If you think of me, pray for me this week, that my hair won’t spontaneously turn grey and fall out, and that I actually get to SLEEP at least a few nights this week!

If I’m as determined as you, I’d be in the same class with you now!
Really, I’ve had it in my mind to take some web development related classes but never even dare do it at this season. So hang in there! And yeah, hope you’re getting the snooze you need…
I couldn’t imagine college and homeschooling 5 kids! You are a trooper!
I love photoshop and am TRYING to learn more about programming.
Noooooo nonono! I’m not homeschooling FIVE kids!! Just ONE kid this year! I have five kids, this year in five different schools! (One of which is homeschooled.) Next year I’ll be hsing K, 2nd & 8th plus my 10 grader will be doing math at home only. Oh my goodness there’s no WAY I could conceive of taking college courses and homeschool more than the one I’m doing! LOL She and I do our work together.
By 7th grade most kids are working fairly independently, and praise God that is the case with my daughter Jaimee!
